I waited a bit before writing this review. Initially I did not like these. But now I really like them.

Installation on my 2016 tacoma was easy. Loosen the u bolts, remove the factory bumpstop, install the sumospring mounting plate, torque the u bolts. I found the torque for the 2016 tacoma rear axle ubolts online. It''s 52 ft lbs. I torqued mine to 58. Once bracket is installed then screw down the sumospring to the mounting bracket using the blue loctite included pitting a decent amount on the sumospring mounting screw which is welded to the plate. Many people seem to think that the loctite is for the axle ubolts. But the directions clearly state it''s for screwing the sumospring down. Axle ubolts don''t need loctite. I rechecked mine at 500 miles and 1000 miles. All good.

I needed to shift one sumospring slightly back on the spring to get it to line up perfectly with the bumpstop bracket on the passenger side. Easy adjustment.

Now have about 1000 miles on them. Initially I thought they rode a bit hard. But they seem to wear in. Maybe slightly harder than factory springs on the trd off-road. But I like it. They raise the back of the truck just about 5/8 inch as other states, which is just perfect as the gen3 tacoma has a higher hood so even unloaded it looked low in the back. With a load they are great. No where near as much squat. Best part is when towing my 3000# travel trailer. Trailer has a 330# tongue load. Generator and other gear in the back is about another additional 200#. Before the back end squatted. It was fine before, no bottoming or anything. But headlights were high and it looks stupid with rear end squatted. Now it''s perfectly level. Ride is a little stiffer when loaded, but it''s good. It is a truck. I hate that toyota has gone out of way to soften ride too much, compromising loading ability.

So far I really like them. Of all the options these were far by far the easiest. Helper springs seem to have challenges hitting the gas tank or frame. Airbags I''ve had before. They always seem to leak in the New England salt. This seems to be a great compromise for the person that rides empty much of time but then heads off to Home Depot for a large load or takes off like I do with a travel trailer and another couple hundred lbs in back. I really researched these. On website after website I could not find a single review that said they damaged the truck in any way. Some people did not like the ride. But most people seem to really like them.

We shall see how they hold up long term. I kept the factory bumpstops just in case. I did think these were just a little bit overpriced for essentially two pieces of engineered foam and a couple brackets. I''d say $150 would be more reasonable. But they seem great in spite of maybe being overpriced.

Remember to do one side at a time. Loosening both sides at once would be dangerous and could throw off your alignment. And if you are using a lift like I did use a pole jack under the axle to support the axle.

These have worked great so far and I see no reason to believe that will change anytime soon. Easy install, so I''m not going to go into that too much. Literally took about 30 minutes to install them both. I''ll explain the relevant parts that make this such a great product for my pickup. Factory setting, unloaded, I had 36.5 inches from the ground to the middle of the outside edge of the rear wheel wells. When I placed 420 lbs on the towing hitch, the pickup squatted to 35 inches. With the SSR-610-40 SumoSprings installed, the unloaded height went to 37 inches, which is a secondary benefit that I did not expect and welcomed with open arms. When placing 420 lbs back onto the hitch, the pickup squatted only to 36.5 inches. This is exactly what I was looking for and it has improved all aspects of towing my boat. And shockingly, the unloaded ride is not noticeably harsh. The pickup has a firmer unloaded ride, but I would not say that it is stiff or harsh at all. Honestly, barely noticeable to me. I hope this helps other Tacoma owners with the decision if they are looking for a product to reduce some of the squat when towing.

Used on my 2006 Tundra 4wd crewcab with a 3/1 lift. I bought them because I tow a 24 ft 4000 lb dry travel trailer. I use a weight distribution and technically didn''t need these. The little bit of bounce I had I wanted to get rid of so I decided to try these. Due to the 1 inch lift block in the back, the Supersprings make complete contact all of the time. The ride unloaded turns out to be like a 3/4 ton truck over bumps and not really noticeable the rest of the time. Hooking up the travel trailer, the truck would go down about 1.5" in the rear without the distribution hitch. With the Supersprings it dips about 0.75". With the weight distribution hooked up the Supersprings keep my truck 0.5" higher in the back than I had without them. If I had gone with the black springs instead of blue it may have kept the truck at the unloaded height but I chose blue for a more comfortable ride. These springs take out nearly all of the bounce you get towing. I just wish I knew about these years ago.

I installed these on a 14 year old Tacoma 4X4. Previously I had an air bag suspension with Timbren bump stops as backup. The air bags after 13 years developed a leak so I removed them and kept the Timbren bump stops.
Then do to a Toyota TSB program I received some no cost new rear leaf springs. Unfortunately this lowered the back of my truck by almost two inches. I had removed the Timbren bump stops before the TSB work per the service advisor. I tried re-installing the Timbren but they just barely contacted the frame and made the ride very rough. The clearance went from 6.25" to 4.6" and the Timbren''s are 4.5" tall.
I removed the Timbren''s and installed the factory bump stops and dealt with the rear end sag until I bought and installed these Sumo springs. Since the Sumo springs are 6" tall they raised the back end of my Tacoma almost 1.5". The ride is not as bad as I thought it would be. Actually very firm like a stock new 4X4 factory ride.
I recently put a 150 pound load in the bed and the rear height of the truck didn''t move.
I can easily deal with the firmer ride and do not regret buying these expensive bump stops.

I installed these on my 2018 Tacoma. Easy install. I am adding a camper shell and I don''t want the back of the truck to sag. Tacomas have "soft" leaf springs from the factory. Ride does firm up but is not objectionable. An added unexpected bonus: the truck leans much less when cornering. I didn''t care to have the added maintenance of air bags and the potential leaking problems. In addition to the camper shell I make the occasional Hardware Store run and put a few hundred pounds in the bed and also tow infrequently. Now I''m confident that the back end won''t be sagging much if at all. I look forward to when my camper shell is installed and seeing my truck remain level. While the specs specify these aren''t for the 3rd gen. Tacoma, these may be used to maintain a level stance on those loaded 3rd gen. Tacomas.

Yes, these are relatively expensive for a steel bracket and piece of foam but they fit well and do a nice job.

I tow a travel trailer with our 2010 Nissan Frontier. I purchased these because even with a weight distributing hitch, the back end of the truck seemed to be sagging too much. I think it is because of the age of the truck. Rather than replace the leaf springs, I opted to purchase and install these SumoSprings. I''m glad I did.

While not the easiest things to install, neither are they beyond the capability of a person handy with tools (if the person has the tools needed to include a torque wrench and appropriate sockets) to install. It does involve following instructions given so that when one is done, the alignment of the rear axle is not changed

They were a little more expensive than I would have liked, but I bought them, so the price must have been what I would consider reasonable, especially considering what these have to do. The decision is whether to opt for the blue, black, or yellow ones. If I were to do it over again, I would have opted for the next step up to the black medium density ones.

I installed these on a 2006 Nissan Frontier in order to improve squat problems with loads in the bed and while towing. I chose them because of the set it and forget it nature of the design.

I chose them over airbags, and I chose them hoping to get enough towing improvement to avoid needing a weight distribution hitch on the times I pull a +/- 4500lb trailer. I know the tongue weight of my trailer is nearly the same with these installed and that suspension enhancements are not the fix that a WDH would offer. Even so, the support these are providing has improved the way my trailer pulls.

The results were noticeable the first time I pulled the truck out after finishing the install and the truck feels safer with these on. Bed squat is noticeably improved and the ride quality improved loaded or unloaded. I have less stutter from the rear end. It feels supported, like a hand is gently gripping the back end of the car. It also improved the way the truck feels in turns on mountain roads, lessening body roll. I installed the blue, thinking that my loads in the bed rarely go over 300 lbs and that I''d prefer the softer ride most of the time; If it squats a little for some future max load it''s not a big deal to me.

Previously I''d put on new shocks on this same truck because the old ones were toast. So it was stock suspension plus new shocks that handled loads poorly and adding these mattered more than the shocks.

I was skeptical at first, I figured the ride quality would be sacrificed and I wasnt sure how well the material would hold up, but wow. I have a heavy toolbox in the bed and never realized how much it made my back end sag. When the sumo springs were installed the rear stayed lifted about 2 inches to stock height and stayed there. The ride quality was a little bumpy and stiff for the first ~1,000 miles and continued to smooth out overtime. I also havs a rear sway bar set on the soft setting, the combination has revolutionized the comfort and handling of my Tacoma around town and on the highway while making corning with heavy koads much safer, it honestly feels like a luxury truck. With heavy loads in the back you dont even know its back there, instead of the familiar sag of the suspension is a slight but firm compression of the sumo springs. Im curious to see how long they last, but I habe a feeling it could be an integral suspension component in the future.
